Eberhard’s Dairy attended the Holiday Showcase at Chester’s Thriftway in John Day on October 18th from 3:00-7:00pm. It was the 10th anniversary for the Chester’s Holiday Showcase and Eberhard’s has attended each year. More than 40 vendors attended the event which featured wine, beer, and holiday food samples in addition to prize drawings throughout the event.
Chester’s partners with Eberhard’s each year to hold an ice cream flavor creation contest. This year’s winning flavor creation was White Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. Our team scooped 15 gallons of the flavor over the four hour event and customers loved trying the delicious treat. A limited supply of the ice cream will be available for purchase at Chester’s Thriftway in John Day and at local scoop shops in Redmond and Prineville.
This year’s event was extra special because Moo Moo Belle was in attendance! She visited her fans, took photos, and gave lots of hugs and high fives throughout the day.
In addition to unveiling the new limited-edition ice cream flavor and Moo Moo Belle’s surprise visit, another highlight of this year’s event included the “Cracking of the Parm”, where a Chester's staff member used a hammer to crack a whole aged Parmesan wheel in half for in-store samples. Additional highlights included the Willamette Valley Pie-Eating Contest and the Pacific Seafood Oyster-Eating Contest, where the winning contestant ate 12 oysters in one minute for a $50 cash prize.
Thanks to Chester’s Thriftway in John Day for a great time. We are already looking forward to next year’s event!
